Although all items are carefully selected and inspected, vintage clothing is 20+ years old and some wear is to be expected. While I try to include as much info on flaws as I can, the following guide is used to inform the buyer of the condition of the piece of clothing in question:

Excellent - The piece shows only minor signs of wear.

Good - The vintage piece is considered wearable and structurally sound but has some surface flaws such as staining, small holes, or color damage/fading.

As is - The item is wearable but has significant signs of wear and tear although some of these pieces could be restored by buyer.

Birdie's Vintage Closet is currently a one woman show meaning all clothing is modeled, photographed, measured, and shipped by the owner (or her husband). In order to offer different size options to buyers some pieces are clipped on the model in order to show the true fit and cut of the item. Measurements are always included in descriptions and buyers should compare their own measurements to ensure fit.

At Birdie's Vintage Closet we do not list the size as what appears on the tag. This is because guidelines for sizes have changed drastically overtime. Instead, all items are measured with a tape measure laying flat to determine size. All measurements are approximate and based off modern guidelines from sizeguide.net. I try to include an estimate letter size when possible, please keep in mind this is based off the measurements and can vary from modern stores.

All items are meticulously examined and measured before the items are listed. We do not accept returns for incorrect fit or failure to read descriptions. That being said, errors can happen. If you are unhappy with your item and feel the item was not as described please contact us right away and we are happy to work with you. If you do choose to return an item, shipping will be at buyers expense. Any problems with an item must be submitted within 3 days of the items delivery via USPS.

EU & UK BUYERS: Returns will be accepted within 14 days of the items delivery date per "distance selling laws".

Buying vintage clothing is a very exciting way to add unique pieces of clothing to your wardrobe as well as help our environment by not sending more clothing to the landfill. All clothing is 20+ years old and often one-of-a-kind.
That being said, buying vintage may not be for everyone so there are a few things to consider: All pieces are previously owned, can contain some signs of wear such as small holes or stains, and sometimes has a slight odor from storage/age. Don't let this deter you; I do my best to acknowledge major flaws in items' descriptions and launder items before they're listed.
